PCB Layout :

Here at Printed Circuit Boards, we believe that the PCB layout is as important as the actual schematic diagram, especially in these days of high speed systems and tight EMC controls.

Whilst an engineer may look at a circuit diagram and immediately recognise the parts of it which will be noisy, or especially sensitive, or carrying high voltages or currents, these considerations are not conveyed by the simple netlist which is often all that is given to the PCB designer.

And whilst most CAD tools nowadays try to solve this problem by attaching these crucial details to the design, unless the same tool is used throughout, it is unlikely that this information is carried through.  Even where the design engineer may try to document or explain all the issues, it is impossible to convey all the issues, if for no other reason than knowing what is, or is not, obvious to the PCB designer.

So we believe that the best person to do the PCB layout is the engineer himself, or at least an engineer with similar knowledge and experience.  Which is why our PCB layout work is performed by engineers.
